Full Moon in Scorpio

This seems to be a particularly intense full moon. Perhaps that has to do in part with the other events that are happening at the same time. As well as being the full moon it was Wesak, the Buddha’s birthday, and Midpoint 6th day is approaching (which happens on the 11the of May).

Scorpio is about transformation, letting go, death and rebirth. We can use the energy of the full moon to illuminate those areas of our life that we need to let go of, to see where transformation can occur.

Each sign has a motto, Scorpios is “I Desire”. Usually desires are thought of as being indulgent. But there is a lot to be learned through following our desires. First of all I would like to make a distinction between ‘passion’ and ‘desire’. Passion is the sacred fire, the fire that inspires us along our path. Desire on the other hand is more closely connected to the ego, to wants. You may define these words in a completely different way, that is not important. What is important are the concepts behind the words. Use which ever word you like but let’s follow the meaning.

We need to be able to distinguish between our passion and our desires. At first they may seem the same or indistinguishable but in time it becomes clear. Our passion may even lay hidden under our desires. So look, pursue, go into your desires and see where they take you.

We can learn a lot by just looking at our desires. Often we reject the idea of looking at our desires because we feel it is self indulgent. But when we look deeply they will show us what is missing or lacking. or what is driving us. I am not suggesting that you act on all your desires, but to process them, take a mental journey and see where it takes you. The essence of your desires is often what is lacking in your life or your passion.

Once you know what is lacking you can go about finding a healthy way to fulfill that need. Or you may find that it lack substance. That it is ego related. You only want it because everyone else has it. It is not personal to you. If this is the case knowing that it is not your own often removes the charge and it is easy to let it go. Sometimes we just get swept away in group consciousness.

Repressing your desires only increases the charge. We need to transmute the charge, to neutralize it, in order to let it go. Transmutation can easily come through clarity. Just seeing a situation clearly can also remove the charge.

Passion, this is another story all together. Passion is the fire that moves us. Barbara DeAngelis in her book Passion writes:

Passion

Surrendering to your own passion

isn’t surrendering to something

or someone

on the outside

It’s surrendering to the power

of your own love,

your own joy

It’s surrendering to your Self

Finding your passion will lead you to your destiny because it is your driving force. The flame deep inside that inspires you. But to see the flame to feel the sacred fire we need to ‘purify’ ourselves so that the flame can burn brightly. The way to do this is to lighten our load, by releasing or letting go of all that does not serve us well.

We have come full circle, the death; the letting go brings us to a new beginning. It brings us to our destiny our first step our first breath, our in-spiration. The process of uncovering what lies beneath, at our core, layer by layer.

On May 11th we reach the mid-point of the 6th day on the Mayan calendar. This point is the Rebirth Celebration. But before being born we must dies, we must let go of the things that are weighing us down, to ‘lighten’ our load.

The 5th Night showed us what was not working, what needed to be released in a very dramatic way. It shifted our consciousness, made us wake up to the fact that we were asleep living an illusion created by those who were benefiting from our deep sleep. Once we woke up we were disoriented. It is often easy to see what is wrong but not so easy to do what is right, especially when it is our entire way of thinking that needs to change.

The 6th Day began in November. We’ve had several months to regain our balance. We lived the experience and had time to process it, now it is time to step into it. We can let go of what we no longer need, what no longer supports our new consciousness and our new world order. Some are still clinging to the shores, imagining that we are going back to our cancerous constant growth state. Others have found peace and even joy in finding what they really don’t need and lightening their load.

It is time to let go and embrace the new. We have a better idea of how it works so let’s go for it full force. The universe is conspiring with us. The full moon will help by illuminating what needs to go, the mid-point lend energy to our rebirth.

Scorpio being a water sign also brings emotion. And because the theme is letting go that emotion might be grief. Just allow your self to feel, to fully experience the emotion. Often embracing, rather than repressing or pushing away, is enough to change the charge. Once there is no charge, once it has been magnetically neutralized then there in no attraction. There will be release with not effort. Enjoy the freedom, enjoy your ‘lightness’.
