New Moon in Taurus
There is so much going on right now, and it is shifting so quickly that it is difficult to speak about anything, but I will try. There are so many good articles out there with so much information that I hope you will read. I don’t want to just repeat what is in them but somehow bring them together. I have included the links so that you can read the complete and original sources.
New moons are about new beginnings, a time to set an intention for the coming month. Full moons are about illumination, reflection, a time for asking for clarity. New Moon in Taurus feels good. Somehow stable. Taurus is the bull or sacred cow (Hathor) ruled by the planet Venus (beauty and love). The energy of Taurus is that of birthing. It is very earthly, prosperity, abundance.
We moved out of winter and our trip to the underworld into the spring equinox, a time of emerging, when the seeds open break through the ground. Not an easy process cracking open the earth after a long winter underground. Now we move to a period of nurturing those seeds into seedlings so that they may grow and eventually blossom in summer.
Within that cycle, cycle over cycle, things begin to synchronize. We find our selves not only in spring but in the 6th Day on the Mayan Calendar. The Fifth Night (November 19th 2007-November 12th 2008) brought the darkest period leading to the final financial collapse (the death) so that we may begin our rebirth in the 6th Day (November 13thth 2009). 2008-November 8
Interestingly enough the midpoint of the 6th Day is approaching quickly, on the 11th of May. This event which occurs when the sun is still in Taurus is called the Rebirth Celebration. (http://www.calleman.com/content/articles/RebirthCelebration.htm).
What are we rebirthing into? It is a new consciousness. The 5th Night brought the death of the old consciousness, but not completely. It showed us through an illuminating event where we are going but many are not yet ready to go there. Remember the Hopi saying ‘there will be some clinging to the shores’? There are whole countries clinging to the shores! Evolution is not about fixing but adapting. It is about letting go of the shore and moving with the flow, navigating the river. Joseph R. Giove in his article on the Rebirth Celebration says
“In fact, one of the more profound
insights from the genius and insight of the Mayans is this: the energies that
give rise to our manifested world change along a divine plan with which we can
consciously align, and that by doing so, we move into greater perfection with
the divine plan. In other words, the world that was is not what
informs a new world. What informs a new world and our new lives are powerful
forces continually emanating from the inter-dimensional, creative core and
Intelligence of the universe.”
So what was the old consciousness, the one we are trying to let go of? That became clear to me in a conversation with a student last week. She was talking about cancer. What defines a cancer cell is that there is no ‘off’ switch. The cells continue to proliferate no matter what, consuming or transmuting everything in their way until finally they kill the host. Does that sound at all familiar?
Countries are like that, economic growth is like that. Things cannot expand infinitely. The result is killing the host (earth, our psyche). And what is the mutagen that transmutes us into that cancerous state? Scarcity mentality, ego, separation…
Carl Calleman put it very well in his article on the Rebirth Celebration:
“What then is there to do in this
situation we may ask? If the economy will never start to grow again, what will
emerge in its place? Many realize that what needs to happen is a transition to
a sustainable economy, something that humanity has not experienced for some
5000 years. This would mean a return to a
In order to evolve we need to cure our cancer consciousness. More is NOT necessarily better. Ask all those people dying from cancer whose cells won’t shut down. It is all right in front of us and we can’t see it. We can’t see it because we got use to it. We got use to not feeling well, being stressed, being depressed. The age of Pisces convinced us that suffering was good, and something we should strive for ‘no pain no gain’. What happened to joy? Not fun, but joy. Fun is an activity; joy is a state of being. There is a huge distinction.
We even took attempts to feel good to a cancerous state, addiction. We not only have drug and alcohol addiction but food and sexual addiction. We took primal urges to nurture and satisfy ourselves and mutated them into cancerous states. Something inside of us is searching for a blissful, joyous state but we have forgotten how to get there. I think most would agree that we are not in a very good place. But how do we get out of it? Well, as always, the Universe is there to assist.
“Any system of a personal, social,
economic, political, educational, commercial or medical nature that was based
on features of scarcity, separatism, greed, domination, control, imbalance,
force, conflict, etc. have lost their energetic foundation and are dissolving
back into the void as we speak. Amen and, respectfully, good riddance.” Joseph R. Giove
All winter through our trip underground we have been talking about the interesting arrangement of the planets, how they have been all grouped together, or conjuncted. This began to expand and spread out in a natural and synchronistic way as we progressed to spring.
The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars all begin there dance through all the signs of the zodiac while the other, more ‘spiritual’ planets hold their places. And interesting places they hold indeed. We have an amazing triple conjunction Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune in Aquarius. We have had this configuration for quite some time and will continue to have it for quite awhile but it wasn’t so obvious before when all the other planets were on top of it.
In some of the past entries I spoke about energies emanating from the galaxy that are affecting us strongly. People like me, who have always reacted to subtle changes, such as barometric pressure, are now becoming overwhelmed as the subtle changes are not so subtle any more. I know these reactions are to the larger ‘universal weather’ rather than earth weather I just haven’t been able to prove it yet.
This triple conjunction in Aquarius is lending a lot of energy to this attunement. It is activating our Kundalini energy. Unless you are familiar with this kind of energy, and understand the power behind it, it could be quite overwhelming. Anyone who has consciously experienced a Kundalini rising will know what I mean.
Once I realized where the planets were and what is going on around us I could recognize it as a Kundalini rising. This became very clear to me at the last full moon meditation. Reading Barbara Hand Clow’s article on the new moon in Taurus confirmed it. There is a lot of information in that article. I highly recommend that you not just read it but take it in. http://www.handclow2012.com/astroflash.htm
All this Aquarian energy is giving us a glimpse of what it will be like to live in a high energy state. It really takes some getting use to. We need some practice. Doing some kind of energetic movement such as Yoga. Tai chi or Sacred Dance will help you to learn to move through life, the greater Dance, in this high energy state.
Relating this back to where we began, with the very earthy issues of money and power, we are tapping into a new kind of ‘power’. Money is just one kind of power, a manifested ‘power’. Or at least it use to be when we were using gold coins. Over time we have moved further and further away from this until now most people don’t even use cash. A persons ‘total net worth’ (an interesting expression) is just a number on a computer screen. The crash showed us that those numbers can all just disappear in a second.
Perhaps our ‘worth’ is something greater than numbers or even our physical possessions. As humans we don’t seem to do anything easily. So we will do it the hard way, by force. Now we are forced to look at what we really do posses. And that is our Self. When we stand naked in front of ourselves who are we?
Well if we take it all the way back to quantum physics we are energy. Even our ‘physical’ make up is an illusion to some extent. We are space brought together, in form, by energetic attraction. In the microcosm that is our molecules, cells, bodies, communities. In the macrocosm planets solar systems, galaxies and…beyond
Aquarius is not just about the sexual/spiritual energy, it is also about humanity and community. The Age of Aquarius is about coming together as a community whether it is with in our bodies, on the planet or within the greater galaxy.
The Mayans spoke about this, they even named this cycle the Galactic cycle. They said that this is the period of time when we will again recognize our selves as part of something greater. The first step is becoming aware of the fact that we are just one planet of one solar system in one galaxy. We are not all there is. In fact we are nothing more or less than energy, which cannot be created or destroyed but can change form. So in the end the only ‘real’ form of energy exchange or power is…energy.
I will stop there and ask that you just sit and consider that concept. See what emerges…

Great article - well done - keep up the good work : )
