Last night, April 9^th, the full moon was in Libra. We gathered as we always do to celebrate and set an intention using the strong lunar energy. We also looked at the position of the planets and see what other influences we are dealing with at the present time.

Libra is about balance. After the long winter journey to the underworld and then the strong emergence into spring balance would be a good thing to focus on. Libra, ruled by Venus is also about beauty. Both these aspects were very strong on this full moon.

Inspired by the full moon my Libra son wrote a poem. It is the first one that I know of. He definitely feels the goddess energy and gave us a great gift on the occasion of our gathering. I have attached it below.

Our discussion of Libra and balance took us to the topic of ancient Egypt and Dendera. Dendera temple is where the original astrological disk was found, the one that now resides in the Louvre. The disk is fascinating. The piece of it that relates to our discussion in the sign of Libra is it’s relation to Virgo and Scorpio. The original astrological disk contains only 10 signs. 10 is the number of completion. The signs of Libra, Scorpio and Virgo were one, all in balance. Then the signs were opened and separated, disconnected.

This is why Virgo and Scorpio have very similar glyphs, balancing on either side of the scales. Virgo and Scorpio represent the two serpents of the spine, the Ida and the Pingala, Libra the staff they coil over in a helix pattern, representing the caduceus.

If we then go to the chart for the day, to see where all the planets are positioned at this moment, we see that they are beginning to spread out. The last few months all the planets have been clustered together, giving us a feeling of being stuck. Now we see movement in the chart.

At this time we still see many planets in Aquarius. Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus. Uranus represents the sexual/spiritual energy. The theme of reintegrating the two poles of the Kundalini energy comes up again. The best use of the energy of the day seems to be to focus on reintegrating and balancing these energies.

Personally I had a very strong reaction during the meditation stronger than any other month. And now that I am writing and processing this I can see that it was definitely a Kundalini rising. Other women also had some very powerful experiences. Seems the intention was realized.

A Rose is Like a Woman

A rose is like a woman
The beauty, the aroma
Yet a woman, like a rose
If grasped recklessly or irresponsibly
The harsh thorns would goad even a mans rough exterior, happily

A rose like a woman
needs to be nourished daily.
But need not too little or too much
if so, then the delicate texture slowly dies.
She would start to spoil and the relationship, like a rose, dries.

A woman like a rose
Eventually wilts
But if protected from the frost
And sheltered accordingly
The slickest gardener would keep his special rose for eternity.
